Harmony & Healing VIBES Tribe
Harmony & Healing - Olivia Caldwell Foundation and VIBES in Partnership is a FREE enrichment program that provides private and group music therapy sessions and teen classes to Natrona County families and patients. Teen music classes allow teens to explore creating and expressing themselves through music. Student activities include rock band, marimba classes, digital music, recording, digital composition, looping, songwriting, music theory, drum circle, and more! AWARD-WINNING DRUMS ALIVE CLASSES
Students will participate in a 45 min. class weekly for ages 6-9. The best way to move your body is with music! This multi-level, award winning, and researched based program guides students through a program of drumming, movement, and creative exploration. Students learn how to get their heart rates up with a combination of exercise, brain development, crossing mid-line activities, and reading rhythms. Students drum on buckets and balls, run music relays, and dance to new rhythms.
Drumline Classes
Students will participate in a 55 minute class weekly for ages 9 and up. Students learn techniques, rudiments, cadences, and grooves. Drumlines participate in performances, battles, and drumline competitions. Our drumlines have performed and battled with the Denver Broncos Stampede Drumline, Denver Nuggets SkyLine Drumline, Troopers Drum & Bugle Corps, and have attended the DCI International Drumline Battle Competition in Indianapolis. Students will be required to pass an audition for advanced and intermediate drumlines.
Students will need to purchase sticks and hearing protection for this class. Please wait for the first class to get more information on what brands to purchase.
For advanced classes/ensembles, students will need to be placed into the appropriate level class. Student success is the upmost of importance and placing them into the correct class will help ensure students excel and grow to meet their full potential.
ROCK BAND
Students will participate in a 45 minute class weekly for ages 8 and up. Rock band classes are for students who have experience playing their instruments and are ready for the next level! Students learn how to play all styles of music in a student driven atmosphere with professional musicians guiding the class. Instruments include: vocals, guitar, drum set, bass, and piano.
Students participating in these classes are required to take private lessons in addition to their class.
